The Elmina Castle | 85.90

For more than 200 years, this magnificant castle located to the west of Cape Coast was a central depot for the Atlantic Slave Trade. The castle tour brought us through the male slaves dungeon, the female slaves dungeon, and the "point of no return" where slaves were brought out to the ships. It was a somber history lesson, and a glimpse into the horrific past of this beautiful land.
