Before coming to Lila's Child Care Foundation, many children worked at rock quarries like this one. The boy in this photo is 12 years old and has worked there for 3 years. He was in the third grade before having to quit school due to poverty. Now he breaks stones with a hammer from 6am to 5pm, earning less than $2 a day.
